As part of the educational initiative "A lesson in peace and justice," the wards of the "You are an Angel" charitable foundation visited the Dolyna district court. The meeting was not only informative, but also inspiring: the children saw for the first time how the judicial system works from the inside, asked many questions and even attended real court sessions.
"I really liked how everything was honest and real. I used to be afraid of the court, but now I want to be a lawyer," shared 14-year-old Bohdan, one of the participants of the event.
From the courtroom to the dream of a legal career
Children and teenagers were able to get to know the principles of justice better, learn about administrative and criminal cases, observe trials, and even talk to those who stand guard over justice every day — judges and employees of the institution.
High school students showed particular interest. Several of them seriously considered choosing a legal education in the future..
"We didn't just give the children a tour. We showed that the court is not a punitive body, but an instrument for protecting human rights. A just society begins with trust in justice," said Mykola Pasichnyk, head of the court's staff and a longtime volunteer of the foundation.
Why is this important?
For many children in our foundation who have experienced loss, life difficulties, or are in difficult circumstances, such an event was the first step toward understanding that the justice system is designed to protect people. It is about the experience of trust, a sense of security, an understanding of one's rights, and faith in the rule of law.
"Such lessons are not only knowledge, but also an opportunity to see that the law is not something distant. It is about you, me and our common future," emphasized the director of the charitable foundation, Vitalii Saban.
Gratitude from the bottom of our hearts
The charitable foundation "You are an Angel" sincerely thanks the Dolyna District Court for its openness, warmth, and parental attitude towards children. Special thanks to our volunteer and friend of the foundation, Mykola Pasichnyk, for the initiative and careful organization of the event.
