The fifth rehabilitation and recreation camp of this summer for orphans and children deprived of parental care has recently concluded at the House of the Angel Children’s Village. This time, we had the joy of welcoming 24 children from the Rohatyn Special School, who spent an unforgettable week filled with new experiences, exciting adventures, heartwarming emotions, and genuine friendships.

From the very first day, the children were immersed in an atmosphere of warmth, care, and support. They were accompanied by psychologists and art therapists who helped them open up, express their feelings, and build trust. Our dear friends — military service members and the Christian community Ave Maria — also visited the camp and held inspiring meetings filled with faith, strength, and hope.

The camp program was packed with activities: an excursion through the historic streets of Lviv, a hike to the famous Dovbush Rocks, and endless fun at the “Ururu” amusement park. But the biggest surprise for many was the visit to the Lviv Water Park — for every single child, it was their very first time experiencing something like that.

"I never thought I’d get to go to a water park! The slides were so big, and we laughed with our friends all day long. It was my favorite day this summer!"shares 12-year-old Mariyka.

Each day at the House of the Angel was filled with new discoveries. The children swam in the village’s pool, relaxed in a traditional Carpathian hot tub, and took part in themed evening parties with pizza, grilled barbecue, music, and dancing around the campfire.

"We see how children change right before our eyes: they arrive closed off and quiet — and in just a few days, they begin to smile, hug each other, and say thank you. It’s a true miracle that happens here every summer,"says mentor and teacher Ms. Myroslava.

So far this summer, 111 children from state-run institutions have received rest, care, and emotional support at the House of the Angel. For many of them, this was their first real vacation in life.

"I remember every trip and every game. I found real friends here, and I realized that not everything in life is bad. Thank you for not forgetting about us," — reads one anonymous note left behind.

We are sincerely grateful to all our partners and the kind-hearted people who make this work possible. A special thank-you goes to Playrix, whose generous donation fully covered the camp experience for 70 children under the care of our foundation.

Thanks to your support, these children received a bright, joyful summer — one filled with laughter, happiness, and the comforting reminder that kindness is always near.
