At the Children’s Village “Angel’s Home,” the second psychosocial camp for orphans and children affected by war has come to an end.

It was a week filled with warmth — a week of adventures, heartfelt hugs, honest conversations, and unconditional support. Over the past week, 21 children evacuated from the frontline town of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region spent time resting, undergoing psychological rehabilitation, and regaining their strength at “Angel’s Home.” Their center was completely destroyed by Russian missile strikes, and for the past few years, they have been living in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, seeking refuge from the war.

Our foundation’s team did everything possible to make these days safe, supportive, and joyful for the children. We want each and every one of them to feel valued and needed.

Here’s what the children shared:

  • “It’s my first time here, but it feels like home…” — Mykyta, 16 years old.

  • “What I loved most were the evening talks with the psychologists. We spoke, and for the first time, I was able to say everything I had been holding inside for so long…” — Svitlana, 16 years old.

  • “I dreamed about my home. But here, for the first time in a long while, I wasn’t afraid to fall asleep…” — Rostyk, 7 years old.

  • “Thank you for this summer. I’ll never forget it…” — Regina, 8 years old.

These words are the greatest reward for our entire team. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports our work, believes in the power of kindness, and helps children find their way back to life.

As part of the project “Psychosocial Support for At-Risk Children During Wartime,” the Children’s Village “Angel’s Home” has welcomed 41 children since the beginning of summer for rest and recovery. These children are being raised in state-run institutional care facilities.

The project was implemented with the financial support of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid.

Together, we are giving children more than just a summer — we are giving them hope!
